The Friends of the Mansion are hosting Judith Krall-Russo, noted Food Historian, to speak about the New Jersey Cranberry. The cranberry is among the few fruits indigenous to the United States. Judith will speak on the many uses of the cranberry as food, medicine and dye. Learn the history of these tart berries and why they were so important in the 19th century. Early American recipes will be discussed.
We will meet in the Smithville Mansion Annex in the Billiard Room.
