Lost Journals

The journals (diaries) that Agnes Matilda Gilkerson Smith kept were last known to be in the possession of her sister, Clara Gilkerson Field, wife of George Field. Agnes died in 188l. H.B. gave the last diary to Clara to make a final entry. Clara, George, and their two daughters left Smithville in 1891. Agnes and Clara were originally from Vermont.
Also, seeking H.B.’s journal. It was last known to be in the possession of Burlington County but its whereabouts are currently unknown.

The Friends of the Mansion of Smithville are always looking for documents and pictures about Smithville. All documents can be scanned and returned to the owner.
